Privacy policy

Version of 23 October 2026

This page explains how Pivovar Stern handles the personal data of people who visit this website or contact us through it. Purchases and sending the newsletter are handled by our e-shop under its own terms at eshop.pivovarstern.cz (in Czech).

1. Who handles your data

Pivovar Stern s.r.o., Komárovská 466/16, 617 00 Brno, Czech Republic, Company ID 06867308. E-mail prodej@pivovarstern.cz, phone +420 732 598 428. We are not required to appoint a data protection officer; please send any questions to the e-mail above.

2. Forms on this website

When you send us a message, an enquiry for your company or venue, a tour request or a Stern Pub booking, we process what you enter in the form: name, e-mail, phone, company or venue name, date, number of people and your message.

  • Why: to reply, prepare an offer or confirm your booking.
  • Legal basis: steps taken at your request before entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). For general questions, our legitimate interest in replying to you (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
  • How long: 12 months from our last contact. If an order follows, as long as the law requires, 10 years for accounting records.

We do not send you marketing based on a form message. You only get the newsletter if you sign up for it yourself.

2a. Newsletter

When you sign up for news on this website, we send you an e-mail with a confirmation link. We only store your e-mail address and the time of confirmation after you click it; unconfirmed sign-ups are not stored. Once a week we pass it to our e-shop on Shoptet, from which we send the newsletter (in Czech).

  • Why: to send you news about our beers, pre-orders and offers, roughly 2 to 4 times a month.
  • Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
  • How long: until you unsubscribe, using the link in every newsletter or by writing to prodej@pivovarstern.cz.

3. Messenger and Instagram

If you write to us on Messenger or Instagram, we see your message and profile and reply for the same reasons as with the forms. Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. also processes the conversation under its own rules.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

  • Essential: remember that you confirmed you are 18+ and which cookie choice you made. The website does not work without them, so we do not ask for consent.
  • Cookieless visitor statistics: Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights by Vercel Inc. (USA) count visits and measure page speed. They use no cookies or other browser storage, do not track you across websites and do not let anyone identify you. This is our legitimate interest in a working, fast website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
  • Analytics (only with consent): Google Analytics by Google Ireland Ltd. Measures which pages people visit so we can improve the website. Data is kept for up to 14 months.
  • Marketing (only with consent): Meta Pixel by Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. and Google Ads by Google Ireland Ltd. Measure whether our ads work and let us show you our ads on Facebook, Instagram and Google.

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time via Cookie settings in the footer.

5. Map and videos

The map of places to drink Stern loads map tiles from a map provider, which sees your IP address. “Nearest to me” uses your location only in your browser; we never receive or store it. Videos are links to Instagram, so Meta only processes your data once you open a video there.

6. Who can access your data

Only brewery and pub staff who handle messages, enquiries and bookings. Also our suppliers, only as far as their service requires: Shoptet a.s. (e-shop and newsletter sending), Vercel Inc. (USA, web hosting and cookieless visitor statistics), Resend (Plus Five Five, Inc., USA), which delivers form messages to us by e-mail, sends subscription confirmations and keeps the newsletter sign-up list until it is passed to our e-shop, our e-mail provider, Google and Meta as described in section 4, couriers and our accountants.

Some of them may transfer data outside the EU, mainly to the USA. This only happens with GDPR safeguards, such as the European Commission’s decision (EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework) or standard contractual clauses. We never sell your data.

7. Your rights

You have the right to know what data we hold about you and get a copy, to ask for correction, erasure or restriction, to object to processing based on legitimate interest, to data portability and to withdraw consent at any time. Just write to prodej@pivovarstern.cz; we will reply within one month.

You can complain to the Czech Office for Personal Data Protection (Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů), Pplk. Sochora 27, 170 00 Prague 7, uoou.gov.cz.

8. Automated decisions and changes

We make no automated decisions about you. We may update this policy; the current version is always on this page.
